Although Carlos «Carlito» Fuente Jr. is the president of A. Fuente y Cia. Usually handles the blending; he entrusted his father, Carlos Fuente Sr., who passed away in August 2016, with creating the blend for Arturo Fuente Casa Cuba. Released in 2013, it was the elder Fuente’s first blend in many years. For Casa Cuba, Fuente Sr. used Ecuador Havana wrappers and a combination of Cuban-seed Dominican filler and binder. These cigars are the last blend created by Carlos Fuente Sr. before he passed away in 2016, which was a great loss for the thriving cigar industry.

Fuente Sr. created this brand with the goal of capturing the flavor and taste of his father and early years in the cigar industry when Cuban tobacco was legally imported into the U.S. The cigar making at the time was old fashion and traditional. He stated that he blended the cigar in the same way he used to blend Cuban tobacco, just this time with Cuban-seed Dominican tobacco. The cigar’s name, Fuente Casa Cuba Doble Cinco, is a nod to the game of dominos. Despite the smoke being relatively mild, this blend is packed with personality flavors and vitality and the smoke offers a glimpse into another rich era of cigar production.

Arturo Fuente Casa Cuba uses tobacco that originated from the Dominican Republic and was derived from Cuban seeds tobaccos. It’s also worth noting that the founder of the cigar company, Carlos Fuente Sr., was a first-generation Cuban immigrant born in the US. He passed away in 2016, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and passion for cigars that his son, Carlos Fuente Jr., continues with. Casa Cuba Double Cinco is a testament to this rich legacy.
